Michael Baum is the Executive Director of Fox Mountain Adventures. Michael has worked in the camp industry since 2003, and has been a camp director in Southern California since 2009. Over his 13 years in the camp industry, Michael has worked with hundreds of staff and thousands of campers at resident camps, outdoor education centers, day camps, and after school programs, with his true passion being resident camp. Michael is a frequent speaker on camper management and staff development at American Camp Association events, and works with a variety of youth agencies during the off season as a consultant on their recreation programming.
Most recently, Michael became a bestselling author with his book "Camp's Over, Now What?", featuring 102 free things to do for kids and teens.
A summa cum laude graduate of UC Irvine with a degree in Cognitive Psychology, Michael is a life-long San Diegan and is currently a certified archery instructor, lifeguard, and an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid instructor. Michael welcomes any calls or emails from prospective parents, and would love to connect to answer any questions you may have about a summer at Fox Mountain Adventures.

Favorite Camp Activity: Hiking Fox Peak!
TJ Roberts is the Assistant Director and Boys Head Counselor for Fox Mountain Adventures. TJ began working with youth full time as a Group Leader for a day camp in his hometown of Huntington, New York in 2007. Since then, TJ immersed himself in the resident camp livelihood by working year-round both in outdoor education as well as resident summer camp in Running Springs, California. TJ then decided to pursue a graduate degree in Williams Bay, Wisconsin which turned into an opportunity to serve undergraduate students as an Adjunct Professor and Coordinator of Student Wellness and Leadership. He recently returned home to New York to begin his own personal training company, Training Wheels of Wellness.
TJ is a cum laude graduate of SUNY Albany with a BA in Sociology, obtained his MS in Recreation Administration from George Williams College of Aurora University, is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and specializes in MMA Conditioning, Youth Exercise, and Fitness Nutrition. When spare time finds him, TJ is often found outside doing something active with friends and/or family or enjoying a coffee while planning another road-trip adventure.

Favorite Camp Activity: Counselor Showcase!
Melissa Karpecki is returning to Fox Mountain as the Program Coordinator and Girlís Head Counselor in 2016! She has attended many camps as a girl scout growing up and loves being outdoors. She is passionate about bringing camp activities to life, and does an exceptional job ensuring campers get the most out of their time at Fox. Whether itís planning a crazy complicated secret scavenger hunt or making up silly songs at dinner, Melissa loves making every aspect of camp life memorable.
Melissa currently attends San Diego Mesa College and plans to pursue a major in Peace and Conflict Studies. Melissa is also an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and in CPR/First Aid for the professional rescuer.

Favorite Camp Activity: Slime!
Ashleigh George is the lead Nurse at Fox Mountain Adventures! She has spent several years working as a residential camp nurse and outdoor adventure educator and leader in Southern California and around the world. Her experience ranges from an Assistant Medical Director position at a camp for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities to leading teen tour groups on a national and international level.
Ashleigh is from Georgia where she attended the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and has been working as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse for the past six years. Her current job specializes in pediatric emergency medicine. Ashleigh holds certifications in Pediatric and Adult Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Emergency Nursing for Pediatric Trauma.
She has a love and enthusiasm for the great outdoors. She enjoys being directly involved in all aspects of camper life, whether it be on the archery range, singing songs before meals, or taking care of campers' health needs.
